A-Day / Gridiron Bash
Hey Football Fans! Spring practice is almost underway and A-Day is just around the corner. A-Day is set for April 12, 2008 with kickoff at 2:05 p.m. CDT and televised live on CSS. In addition to the game festivities, there will be the Gridiron Bash concert at Bryant-Denny Stadium on Friday night featuring Alan Jackson at 7:30 p.m. For all your essential Gameday information including traffic, parking, RV parking and tailgating activities on the Quad, go to the University of Alabama’s official Gameday website, www.uagameday.com. Here are the latest Gameday & Gridiron Bash updates and reminders for A-Day:
A-Day / Gridiron Bash Parking
- Campus parking lots and decks will be open to the general public for parking at no charge.
- General Public Parking is not allowed in the following areas:
- Handicap Accessible parking areas
- Reserved areas which are marked with signage or attendants
- Areas where streets are closed or restricted

- Please remember there is NO PARKING on sidewalks due to pedestrian safety.
- Handicap shuttle will be running from South ten Hoor at 12:00 p.m. for A-Day.
Parking Tip for A-Day: Take advantage of parking at Coleman Coliseum, the Soccer Lot or Campus Drive Deck for A-Day! We welcome you to park in these free lots which are permit only for regular season games.
RV Parking
- For A-Day there will be four areas on campus designated for RV parking. The cost of parking in these RV Lots will be $75 and will include 1 tow vehicle pass. To purchase RV Parking, call Southtix at 1-800-240-2300 or visit www.southtix.com. Entry into these designated areas will be allowed at 6pm on the Friday before A-Day. There will be no staging on campus prior to 6p.m. The designated areas for A-Day RV parking are:
- RV Lot 3 (Former Capstone Medical Center Lot)
- RV Lot 4 (Child Development Center Lot)
- RV Lot 8 (Campus Drive Grass Lot near the Soccer Fields)
- RV Lot 9 (grass lot next to the Chevron on University Boulevard)

- The Northington Lot on McFarland Blvd (behind the Bruno’s Supermarket) will not require a reservation and will be available free of charge.
- RV Parking will not be allowed in any other non designated areas on campus.
Traffic
- Don’t forget about the four dedicated Gameday Routes traveling to Tuscaloosa for the concert and the game.

- There will be limited vehicle access around Bryant-Denny Stadium for the Gridiron Bash and A-Day. Click here to see the traffic map for A-Day/Gridiron Bash that includes all road closings.
- Here is a list of one-way streets for post-game on Saturday:
- Campus Drive West from Marr’s Spring Road to McCorvey Drive
- Campus Drive East from the Campus Drive deck to Helen Keller Drive
- McCorvey Drive from Campus Drive West to Jack Warner Parkway
- Bryant Drive will be one-way heading west from Wallace Wade Avenue to Queen City Boulevard.
- Bryant Drive will be one-way heading east from 10th Avenue to Hackberry Lane.
- University Boulevard will be one-way heading west from Wallace Wade Avenue to Queen City Avenue.
- 10th Avenue will be one-way heading south from Bryant Drive to 15th Street.
- The Tuscaloosa Police Department will be diverting traffic traveling east on Bryant Drive onto 6th Avenue (before DCH Hospital), leading directly to 15th Street.
- Traffic Tip for A-Day: There is ongoing construction on Bryant Drive between Wallace Wade Avenue and Lurleen Wallace Boulevard. Please be aware that this could affect traffic and force you to take a detour in your typical route heading westbound.
Quad
- The Walk of Fame begins at 12:15 p.m. and will honor 2007 Captains Antoine Caldwell, Darren Mustin and Rashad Johnson at Denny Chimes.

- Please remember that set up time for tailgating on The Quad is 6:00pm on Friday. The set up time for tailgating on The Quad Saturday morning will be from 8:00am to 10:00am.
- For fan safety, and to keep electricity available to those on The Quad, here are some guidelines to use when tailgating on The Quad:
- No crock pots
- No “spidering” of electrical cords
- No power strips
- No coffee pots
- Here are some other reminders while visiting The Quad:
- No dumping of charcoal on The Quad
- No unauthorized vehicles on The Quad
- Please be tidy and don’t litter on The Quad
- Be sure to check out the Kickoff On The Quad activities for A-Day, whether it be activities for the kids or getting some great food from our vendor lineup along 6th Avenue (east side of the Quad).
